Santa Rosa Stallions 12, Bulldog Mitey-Mites 0
The Mitey Mites made a gallant effort against the Stallions, but
fell short of a victory. Payton Easton picked off a Stallion¹s pass
ending the second quarter with a score of Stallions 12, Bulldogs
0.
The offense, led by Ivan Flores, Anthony Rea, Jacob Sloma, Kyle
Strouse and Noah Wolfe courageously struggled to drive the ball up
the field against the tough Stallion¹s defense. The defense
dominated the second half with phenomenal tackles made by Damon
McKinney on a Stallion¹s reverse and tackles for losses made by
Damien De La Torre. The defense including players Tyler Soracco,
Tanner Coussen, Dillion Plotner and Cody Cattalini kept the
pressure on the Stallion¹s offense for a scoreless second half.
Santa Rosa 26 Bulldog Junior Pee Wees 13
The Healdsburg Bulldogs traveled to Santa Rosa to battle the
tough Stallion team last Sunday.
The Bulldogs had a multi-pronged offense with Jared Walker’s air
and ground attack. With protection up front from Mac Newland at
center flanked by Jared Beth, Colby Meier, Jonathan Nelson and
Jason Smith, Walker’s run and shoot strategy resulted with eight
carries for over 60 yards including a 1-yard punch for a TD.
Receivers Dylan Bigham, Nick Verity and Austin Turbeville
stretched the field with their speed forcing the Stallions’
defensive secondary into double-duty. Nice catches by Verity (2),
Bigham and Jay Thomas kept the Stallions off-balance, with Jacob
Arreguin powering in for a Dawgs’ TD.
The defense had a spectacular show with great tackles by Renato
Mandujano, Kenny Evans and Jacob Arreguin. Mikey Zeiger busted
through the line and stuffed the Stallion ball carrier for a
three-yard loss and Arreguin tossed the next victim for a four-yard
loss.
Santa Rosa Stallions 27, Bulldog Pee Wees 0
Due to several injuries early on in the game, the Pee Wees had
to make a new game plan which had the players substituting in
positions not normally their own. Even under these circumstances
the entire team made a good effort, including some great passes by
Austin Castando, a spectacular catch by Scott Sprenger, and Patrick
Phillips with several key tackles and one of the three fumble
recoveries.
