The Windsor wrestling team took another step in their quest toward defending their North Bay League crown on Feb. 1, scoring a decisive 52-22 dual meet victory over host Maria Carrillo.
The win kept the Jaguars (4-1) on pace in the NBL power rankings, just one match behind unbeaten Ukiah in league hierarchy. Windsor will resume dual meet action this Wednesday, Feb. 8 when they visit Cardinal Newman. The match kicks off at 6 p.m.
Season ending tournaments on tapÂ
Looming on the horizon are the all-important postseason tournaments, beginning with the North Coast Section Duals Championships hosted by Lower Lake on Saturday, Feb. 11 (9 a.m.).
The NCS Girls Championships will take place on Feb. 10-11 at Albany High School, with the top three finishers in each weight class qualifying for the CIF Girls State Tournament at the Visalia Convention Center on Feb. 24-25.Â
Also coming up is the boys’ march to the state meet, beginning with the NBL Championship Tournament hosted by Maria Carrillo on Feb. 18. The NCS tourney is on Feb. 24-25 at James Logan High School, followed by the prestigious CIF State Championships in Bakersfield on Mar. 3-4.
