Windsor will compete in NBL Championships on Friday
The Windsor wrestling team came within a whisker of league bragging rights in a Jan. 30 dual meet showdown with archrival Ukiah, falling to the Wildcats by the slimmest of margins in a 38-36 team decision.
The Jaguars can extract revenge when they compete at the North Bay League Wrestling Championships at Ukiah High School on Feb. 8 and 9. The action starts on Friday at 10 a.m.
The meet will include both the NBL Oak and Redwood Divisions, with both team and individual titles to be decided.
Most wrestlers will enter the meet hoping for a top-five finish in their respective weight class, good for advancement to the North Coast Section Championships on Feb. 15-16 at James Logan High School in Union City. A top three placement at NCS would earn a coveted spot at the CIF State Championships in Bakersfield the following week.
Ladies fall to Wildcats
The Lady Jaguars suffered a similar fate in the girls wrestling competition on Jan. 30, falling to the Wildcats in a dual meet, 53-30 to finish the regular season in second place. The ladies will compete in the NBL Wrestling Championships this Saturday, Feb. 9 at Ukiah High School.
