A new winery and tasting room proposal is on the docket for county planners next week.
Broken Hill, LLC has applied for a permit to construct a 10,000-case winery at 4603 Westside Road, with a 2,171 square foot tasting room.
The permit application asks for 12 events a year, with a maximum of 150 attendees, 13 industry events a year and four annual events described as “winemaker meals.” No weddings are proposed under the permit application.
The county planning staff is recommending approval of the project under a mitigated negative declaration, which declares that impacts from noise, air quality, traffic and more can be successfully mitigated.
The project is near a bend in Westside Road and neighbors have raised concerns that the project will create a traffic hazard.
A public hearing on the project will be held on Thursday, June 1 at 1:05 p.m. in Santa Rosa at the Permit and Resource Management Department hearing room, 2550 Ventura Avenue.
