The Windsor Youth Baseball League completed their spring schedule this month, crowning champions in three divisions.
Capturing the 2019 Major Division pennant were the Red Sox, posting a strong 11-3 regular season record to finish ahead of the second place Giants. The Red Sox were led by manager Tempo Reyes and coaches James Curry and John Gillette. Players included Jacob Byrn, Brandon Curry, Jackson Frazier, Wyatt Morris, Jared Roy, Zachary Voge, David Contreras, Wyatt Dugan, Kaden Gillette, Joshua Reyes, Ben Sutherland and Jalen Winter.
The Giants captured the AA Division title. The team was led by manager Robert Hollingsworth and coaches Scott Byrn and Joshua Seymour. Players were Aiden Andrade, Trent Byrn, Cristian Chavez, Brody Estrela, Eli Hawk, Robert Hollingsworth Jr., Sam Savano, Robert Self, Hudson Seymour, Benjamin Tedeschi, Levi White and Patrick Wineberg.
The Nationals were the champions of the AAA Division, winning a pair of playoff thrillers over the No. 1 seeded Blue Jays to hoist the first-place trophy. The Nationals were led by manager Steve Kramer and coaches Travis Taylor and Shawn Murphy. Players included Nick Allen, Evan Bouissey, Tanner Boyce, Cassius Brester, Mateo Elliott, Jayden Hernandez, Nolan Karriker, Charlie Kramer, Deacon Murphy, Keyen Navarez, AJ Rakoski and Cade Taylor.
All-star tourneys on tap
Windsor teams will begin the final phase of the 2019 campaign with five all-star teams (ages 8-12) competing in tournaments in various locations. Look for coverage in the coming weeks.
