Windsor police officers and detectives from the Sonoma County
Sheriff’s department have arrested an escapee from from the North
County Detention Facility.
Devin Patrick Dwyer, 19, escaped from the jail on November 16
when he slipped away from a group of prisoners being transported
near the front entrance to the building. He was serving a year
sentence for burglary
Detective Sergeant Glenn Lawrence said police suspected Dwyer’s
girlfriend, Windsor resident Carmen Ana Calder, 18 had been in
contact with Dwyer since his escape and officers were called to the
area when a witness reported Dwyer’s girlfriend entering a business
to pick up a car. She was detained at the business while detectives
searched the area for Dwyer who was located in a vehicle on Dawn
Way at about 2 a.m. and taken into custody.
He has been charged with felony escape from county jail and two
counts of probation violation.
Dwyer’s girlfriend, Windsor resident Carmen Ana Calder, 18, was
also arrested and charged with aiding an escapee. Her bail was set
at $10,000.
