Rammed her vehicle and pushed her off the road
A Windsor man was arrested on Saturday on charges of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon following an vehicle crash in Healdsburg. According to a statement from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department, at about 3:50 a.m. on March 18, sheriff’s deputies responded to the 900 block of Dry Creek Road in Healdsburg on a call of a domestic dispute involving a vehicle accident. Upon their arrival, officers found a 2007 white Dodge Caliber in the ditch and facing the wrong way.
The victim, a 20-year-old Windsor woman and her 19-year-old boyfriend were out of the vehicle and told deputies that they had been followed by her ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old Daniel Galvez of Windsor and he had been driving erratically, following them from Santa Rosa.
When they turned westbound onto Dry Creek Road from northbound Highway 101 Galvez sped up, drove left over the double yellow lines and then intentionally crashed into them, spinning their car around and sending them into the ditch. The victim got out of the car and a verbal altercation occurred. Galvez ended up giving the victim a ride to her father’s house nearby and left. Galvez was located near the scene and California Highway Patrol and Healdsburg Police made a traffic stop on him. He was subsequently arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence.
Both the victim and her boyfriend complained of pain and were transported to Healdsburg District Hospital for treatment. Galvez was ultimately transported and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on felony charges. He has since been released on a $30,000 bail bond.
