Toy drive coming soon
EDITOR: The Windsor Kiwanis Club, together with Windsor Fire, Windsor Service Alliance, Windsor Boosters, Santa Tim, Prayer Shawl Ministry and Masonic Lodge is kicking off the Annual Windsor Marv Stubbs Toy Drive as we are aware the need will be even greater. Windsor proper was fortunate during the Sonoma fires however, we have many locally who were greatly affected. Some of our merchants, teachers, employees and students have lost their homes or jobs.
We are encouraging our community to donate a new unwrapped toy. As a reminder, the toy should something you want your child or grandchild to open on Christmas morning. Cash/check donations are also being accepted by the Windsor Kiwanis Club, P.O. Box 1178, Windsor, CA 95492.
Donation barrels will be located at both of our fire stations, police station, the Exchange Bank and Dr. Chun, DDS office. The fire department will also be accepting donations during the Town Green Tree Lighting on Dec. 7.
Sign-ups for members of our Windsor community are currently being taken at the Windsor Service Alliance, 8987 Windsor Road, for the toy and food giveaway to be held on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each child will get a present, picture with Santa, hot dogs and popcorn and a bag of food, which includes a chicken.
