Grad night needs you
EDITOR: Windsor High School parent volunteers are gearing up for an all night Project Grad party on Saturday, June 2. With the help of upgrades made possible by community partners Windsor Rotary Club and Calpine Corp, WHS seniors will be treated to a night of entertainment, food, prizes, games, music and a chance to spend one last party together as a class of 400 students.
Windsor Rotary donated $4,000 to upgrade the casino area (always a very popular spot) and for scholarships so any student in need may attend, while Calpine gave $1,000 for changes to create easy access and quick set up for games, music and party lighting, all necessary to make the night feel special for the grads.
Active 20/30 Club of Santa Rosa sponsored scholarships for the four seniors affected by the October wildfires. Project Grad also received support from On Fleek Studio, Bear Republic Brewing Company, Advanced Auto Detail, Stäubli Electrical Connectors, Sonoma Canopy Tours and Panda Express.
It will take 300 volunteers to make this safe and sober party a success and we welcome community help between Friday, June 1 (set up 3 to 7 p.m.) and decorating Saturday, June 2 (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and hosting the casino tables, carnival games, providing henna tattoos, serving food and drink or cleaning up after the party on Sunday, June 3 (7 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
Check out the volunteer opportunities on the Project Grad website www.windsorhighprojectgrad.org or Facebook page Windsor High Project Grad or email wi****************@gm***.com or contact president Jennifer Berndt at 217-6614. Help us “Keep them alive to see the sun rise” and continue the tradition of safety and fun on graduation night.
