Local youth football fans won¹t have long to wait as the Windsor
Knights kick off the fall campaign this Saturday and Sunday with
road games against North Sacramento.
The Knights, who feature five teams that include Mitey-Mites,
Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Midget and Midgets, will play an
eight-game schedule over the next two months. The Knights will play
their first home game on Sept. 10 against the Sonoma Dragons. All
home games will be played at Windsor High School.
In addition to the regular season, the defending NBYFC champion
Knights Midget team will travel to Las Vegas during the
Thanksgiving holiday weekend to play in the National Youth Football
League Pigskin Tournament. Due to the high cost of the trip, the
team has set up an account at Exchange Bank in Windsor (tax ID#
95-3389286). Since the team is a non-profit organization, all
donations are tax deductible.
The team has set up three payment options with special gifts:
$150 ‹ your name on a Windsor Knight¹s tee-shirt; $250 ‹ team
plaque with picture; $500 ‹ sponsor banner to be displayed at all
games. For questions, contact Sharon Murphy at 838-0382 or Janet
Winkler at 838-4883.
Windsor Knights¹ coaches are encouraged to send weekly scores
and highlights to Greg Clementi, Times Sports Editor at
gp********@ya***.com. The weekly deadline is Monday at 9 a.m.
