Jags push overall record to 4-1-1

The WHS boys soccer team continued a strong start to the winter campaign last week, scoring impressive road and home victories over Campolindo (4-2) and Santa Rosa (2-0).

The Dec. 16 win over visiting Santa Rosa served as the North Bay League opener and ran the Jaguar’s overall record to 4-1-1.

At press time the Jags were preparing to wrap up non-league action on Dec. 20 at Northgate before taking a break for the holidays. Windsor will resume league play at home on Jan. 4 in a 7 p.m. varsity start against Maria Carrillo.

Jags notch a pair

The Jaguars opened their latest stretch with a Dec. 13 non-league visit to Campolindo in Moraga, with the Cougars taking advantage of a slow Windsor start to grab a 1-0 lead at the half.

The Jags awoke from their early slumber after intermission, exploding for four goals in the final 40 minutes to post a 4-2 win. Windsor goal scorers included Dylan Eddy, Dylan Manfredi, Raymundo Duenas and Chiquis Urincho.

The Jaguars played host to visiting Santa Rosa in the NBL opener on Dec. 16, utilizing a great defensive effort in arguably their best all-around effort of the season.

Windsor took a 1-0 halftime lead and tallied an insurance goal after the break in an eventual 2-0 victory.

Olin Piotter and Sebastian Avalos each tallied a goal for Windsor, while goalie Leo Bossard recorded eight saves in pitching a shutout for the Jags.
