11 and 12-year-old teams moving on to regional tourneys
The Windsor Cal Ripken Baseball League all-stars are taking the field in big numbers this month in double-elimination tournaments all over Northern California, as teams look to extend their seasons for as long as possible.
Representing Windsor in their respective Cal Ripken State All Star tournaments are the 8-U White, 8-U Black, 9-U, 10-U, 11-U and 12-U Black teams. Below is a brief summary of each tournament and complete rosters for local teams.Â
8-U all starsÂ
The 8-U White all stars put up a great fight before being eliminated from their tournament, bouncing back from an opening game loss to win four straight games before the end. The team was led by manager Kyle Roarick, assistant coach Craig Garbo and assistant coach Travis Taylor. Players included Eddie Martinez III, Jakob Murphy, Ernesto Nevarez, Brennen Roarick, Ethan Roarick, Cade Taylor, Vincent Barcenas, Chase Bayly, Bennett Black, Samuel Garbo, Sean Hanshew, Micah Kushins and Kaiden Lassen.
The 8-U Black all stars consisted of manager Chris Powell, coaches Steve Kramer and Connor Tynan and players; Killian Tynan, Chase Eland, Dylan McFerren, Addison Scott, Kadin Jones, Jackson Levar, Jorden Campbell, Gage Skerrett, Calen Levar, Charlie Kramer, Will Pratt and Matai Faagata.
9-U’s
The 9-U team opened their tournament with a win, but was bounced with two straight losses. The team was led by manager Scott Simkins and coaches Mark Adriano, Earl Pasamonte and Jason Sanders. Player were Luckas Adriano, Anthony Azevedo, Brody Baker, Gavin Curran, Max Daniel, Jared Murray, Jake Parnow, Dylan Pasamonte, Silvio Potosme, Dane Ramos, Logan Rota, Micah Sanders and Jake Simkins.
10-U’s
The Windsor 10-U squad made an early exit from their all star tourney, dropping their first pair of games. The team was led by manager Temo Reyes and coaches Thomas Ford and Mike McFadden. Players included Jack Jacobs, Spencer Jacobs, Max McFerren, Kaden Gillette, Moses Medeiros, Wyatt Morris, Joshua Reyes, Brandon Curry, Thomas Ford, Greg Starnes, Aiden McFadden, Kail Pieri and Matthew Worlow.
11-U’s
The 11-U team opened its all star tournament with three wins before losing a game. The team then battled back with three more wins and eventually fell to tourney champ Elk Grove. The Windsor squad now moves on to represent Northern California in the Pacific Southwest Regional tournament in Long Beach starting on July 17.
The 11-U’s are led by manager Scott DeMars and coaches Robert Johnson and Jason Wright. Players are Samuel Wright, Joseph Campbell, Carson Dillon, Giovanni Lucchesi, Diego Boardman, Clayton De Mars, Jacob Spessard, Jacob Scott, Landen Rota, Elijah Hackathorn, R.J. Johnson and Brayden Collette.
12-U’s
Windsor was represented by 12-U Orange and Black teams in the recently completed all star tournament held at Keiser Park. The 12-U Orange squad won its first game against Tracy but were bounced with two straight losses. The 12-U Black team won its first game, lost its second and fought its way through the consolation bracket before falling to Rohnert Park (4-3) in the title game. Windsor will represent Northern California in tournament play in Beaver, Utah next week.
The 12-U Orange team was led by manager Mark Domenichelli and coaches Stan Perry and Todd Hayes. Players included Jonathan Bettiga, Mason Lerma, Cameron Palmer, Ryan Perry, Isaias Mendoza, Joseph Bettiga, Jack Domenichelli, William Hoff, Cody Guy, Dominick Hayes, Owen Parnow and Drew Gehrett.
The 12-U Black squad was led by manager Marco Rivera and coaches Jeramy Dominguez and Damon Neidlinger. Players are Xavian Dominguez, Griffin Quan, Quintin Robinson, Antonio Rivera, Tyler Nordyke #19, Cameron Crean, Brett Neidlinger, Nate Niehaus, Josh Volmerding, Damian Escarcega, Brady Boyd and Dominic Roderick.
