Eric Begley fired a pitch in varsity baseball action for the Jaguars. Windsor will hit the road this week for games at Ukiah and Maria Carrillo.

Jags looking to rebound after shutout losses to Casa, Rancho
Hits were a precious commodity for the Jaguars on the North Bay League baseball diamond this week, weathering a pair of home shutout losses to Casa Grande and Rancho Cotate.
The Jags collected a combined total of just six hits in both games, as the bats went quiet in the face of a couple of outstanding performances from opposing pitchers.
At press time, Windsor (8-10, 3-5) was looking to get the bats going this week with a two-game road swing beginning on Wednesday, April 26 at Ukiah, followed by a Friday, April 28 visit to Maria Carrillo. Both games start at 4 p.m.
Jags throttled by Gauchos, Cougars
Windsor played host to first-place Casa Grande on April 19, sending pitcher Eric Begley to the hill opposite Gauchos starter Chris Joaquim. The Casa hurler held the Jags’ bats in throughout, benefiting from a five-run Gaucho uprising in the third inning to bust the game wide open.
The Jaguars managed just two hits – singles from Tyler Hellums (1 for 3) and Toli Partida (1 for 3) – as Casa Grande cruised to a 7-0 win.
Friday’s home clash with Rancho Cotate shaped up as a battle of aces, with Windsor’s Tanner Kane locking horns with Cougars’ starter Jared Zang through the first four scoreless innings. The visitors broke the deadlock with a pair of runs in the fourth and Zang did the rest en route to a 2-0 Rancho win.
Kane took the loss while top hitters included Patrick Tappin (2 for 2), Kobe Roman (1 for 3) and Joey Pignataro (1 for 3).
