Led by coach Rose LaPierre, the Windsor squad recently returned from a National Cheer Competition in Las Vegas, where it finished among the top three teams in the nation.
Members of the team included Karley Zootis, Kendal Zootis, Crystal Alvarez, Stephanie Diaz, Jeri Lee Janes, Bella Perezchica, Madison Towery, Mariah Dunn, Leeann Jones, Cookie, Xitlali Sanchez, Victoria Sandoval, Karina Carrillo, Julia Fletcher, Taylor Santos, Mary Sweeney, Maleah Giron, Rachel Harwood, Shay Clark and Lilyana Hayes.
Windsor will now set its sights on the upcoming 2017-18 school year when the sport becomes officially sanctioned by the California Interscholastic Federation.
“These athletes represented WHS very well,” WHS Athletic Director Jeff Hardie said. “It’s something to be proud of as we move into CIF Competition Cheer at WHS next year.”
