Beginning to experienced riders of all ages are invited to participate in West County’s favorite cycling event, the Tour d’Organics, on Sunday, August 11. The ride attracted 700 riders last year—from 8 to 84 years old and many from outside the county. This year, organizers are anticipating another great turnout that includes the help of 185 local volunteers.
All routes start and end at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center and wind through the West Sonoma County countryside with rest stops at local, organic farms, including Gabriel Farm, Golden Nectar Farms, Middleton Farm, Dry Creek Peach and Produce, Traditional Medicinals and Three Ox Farm.
“It’s a really fun, classically West County event that is engaging—and you get to go to organic farms, which highlights the special outdoor opportunities and organic farms in West Sonoma County,” said Diana Rich, Sebastopol Community Cultural Center executive director.
There are four routes, from easy to advanced: 16-mile, 35-mile, 65-mile and 100-mile. A post-ride meal is included at the Sebastopol Community Center. Massage therapists will be on hand after the ride ($20 for 15 minutes).
