Warren Andrew Burgess passed away at his home the morning of
June 18, 2007 in the company of his wife and two close friends. He
had lost his battle with side effects of pneumonia. Andy is
survived by his present wife Mary Kay Burgess, and his children Lee
and Irene Burgess of Redwood Valley, CA; Ross Burgess and RaeAnne
Lowrey of Zenia CA, Orin and Ravelle Burgess of Healdsburg, Douglas
and Janice Burgess of Homedale, Idaho, and step daughter Janis and
Chris Ables of Zenia, CA, brother Jim Burgess of Weaverville, CA,
sister Maxine Robinson of Los Molinos, CA, sister Mabel George of
Bend, OR, nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces
and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife Carolyn
Burgess, his parents Ralph and May Burgess, sisters Clara Smith,
Addie Patton, Bertha Martin, Virginia (Katie) Brabrook, Edna Kroll
and Margaret Potter.
Andy went to Zenia Grammar School and married Carolyn Cummins.
He served four years in the U.S. Army and then raised four boys.
Andy moved back to Zenia in the early ‘50s and bought the home
where he lived until his death. Andy was a rancher, logger and
developer of timber, property and sales. He was a District Court
Judge in Trinity County for 17 years. He enjoyed the task of
witching water, bear hunting and playing poker.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be sent to
Kettenpom-Zenia Fire Department. Services were Saturday June 23,
2007 at 11 a.m. at the Martin Cemetery southeast of Kettenpom.
Lunch followed at the Kettenpom Park.
