Virginia Louise Haehl, long time pioneer member of the Haehl Family of Cloverdale, California, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in Healdsburg, California on January 26, 2018.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Walter L. Haehl. Virginia was also predeceased in death by her son Mark S. Haehl and her sister Lora Spaht. Virginia is survived by her son Terry A. Haehl of Cloverdale and her daughter Gina M. Haehl (Trudy) of Santa Rosa.
She is survived by her grandchildren Carrie Reeder, Greg Haehl (Mindi), Jaci Moore (Matt) and Carl Haehl (Melanie). She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
Virginia was born on October18,1925 in Chicago to Lorenzo and Josephine Scavino.
The Scavino family eventually moved to Cloverdale where Virginia attended Cloverdale High School, graduating in 1943.
While working as a switchboard operator in Cloverdale, she met her future husband Walter. They were married on November 16, 1946.
After their marriage, they moved to the Haehl Ranch where they started their family and eventually built their own home in the town of Cloverdale.
Viginia and Wally built a weekend retreat in Gualala where they spent weekends and holidays with family and friends.
In1981, they temporarily moved to Gualala, returning to Cloverdale in 1991, where they lived until their passing.
In Virginia’s lifetime she made and maintained a multitude of wonderful friends.
Our beloved Virginia will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
