Resident of Monte Rio, Rien’s Beach since 1971, Victoria
Thompson enjoyed the time she spent with her family going on
camping trips, Disneyland with her children, and again with her
grandchildren, vacationing with her husband or having family
gatherings at her home for the holidays. She also enjoyed taking
drives to the coast, visiting the local galleries and restaurants.
Her home was always decorated for the occasion: Christmas,
Thanksgiving and Halloween and her children had creative hand-made
costumes. She created elaborate birthday and special occasion cakes
for her family and friends. She also loved her garden in which she
spent years creating sanctuary. She spent years volunteering at
school tutoring, helping with plays, making costumes, attending
football, basketball, baseball games, and ballet recitals of her
children and grandchildren. As a young newlywed, she moved to Monte
Rio on the Russian River where she lived the past 40 years.
Thompson worked as a shopkeeper for many of the small businesses in
Duncans Mills. She attended Modesto Junior College and Santa Rosa
Junior College to study horticulture and floristry. She was born in
Ogden, UT to Doris and Leonard Miller. Thompson is survived by
Robert, her husband of 48 years; three sons and daughters-in-law,
Christian and Deanna, Brandon and Andrea, Jason and Nikki; four
grandchildren, Blain, Kent, Siena and Corbin; mother Doris;
siblings, Cathy, Jackie, Richard, Terry, Claudia, Beverly and Tom
and many other family members and friends. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions can be made to The National Network of Organ
Donors or a charity of choice.
