The Healdsburg Planning Commission discussion on alcohol regulations in Healdsburg has been postponed until June 13 to allow the city staff to prepare more information on the topic. The meeting was originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 23 at Healdsburg City Hall.
According to a planning staff report, the city has more than 60 establishments in the downtown area that serve alcohol.
The planners are expected to discuss strengthening a current guideline that allows one tasting room  per city block face. Currently, that is only a guideline and is rarely enforced when the city grants use permits for tasting rooms. The city council has asked the planning commission to study whether to change the guideline to an enforceable regulation.
In addition, the commission will discuss other types of alcohol-serving establishments, such as beer, cider and distilled spirits tasting rooms that are not covered by the existing ordinance.
