Guitar hero Roy Rogers to open season
As he has every year for a decade, Roy Rogers and his band, the Delta Rhythm Kings, will kick off the popular weekly Tuesdays in the Plaza concert event.
Tuesdays will be busy all summer on the Healdsburg Plaza. The Healdsburg Certified Farmers’ Market opens its new midweek market Tuesday morning, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market will feature fresh produce, prepared food, crafts and local musicians.
During the afternoon, the Plaza will transform into a concert venue. Food booths will be set up and serving on Plaza Street from 5 to 8 p.m. A free bicycle valet service will also be available after 5 p.m.
The concerts are from 6 to 8 p.m. Alcohol can be consumed from 5 to 8 p.m. As in previous years, no chairs and blankets can be left unattended before 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, in order to preserve Plaza space for those who work during the day.
In previous years, pets have been discouraged. At its last meeting, the Healdsburg Parks & Recreation Commission decided to be more direct about pets and forbid them from the Plaza from 5 to 8 p.m. during concert hours.
