The defending league champion Analy Tigers took round one in the battle for West Country softball bragging rights on March 27, easily defeating El Molino, 12-2.
The victory, combined with a pair of wins in the Napa Tournament on March 30-31, pushed Analy’s season record to 5-4 and 1-0 in league. This week the Tigers start a busy stretch with scheduled home games against Pinole Valley (April 3), Tamalpais (April 4) and at Sonoma Valley (April 6). All games start at 4 p.m.
The Lions (1-7, 0-2) remain in search of their first SCL win after falling to Petaluma on March 28, 13-1.

Analy’s Carson Rasmussen squared off against El Mo’s Erika Olson in the clash of rivals on March 27, limiting the Lions to four hits in a five-inning effort.
The Lions pushed across a pair of first-inning runs for an early 2-0 lead, but it was all she wrote as the Tigers scored three in the third, four in the fourth and five in the fifth to force an early stoppage on the mercy rule to win 12-2.
Swinging hot bats for the Tigers were Makayla Kraemer (3 for 4, 2B, HR, 3 runs, 4 RBIs), Leah Lawrence (2 for 4, 2B, 2 runs, RBI), Cameron Cordoza (1 for 2, run), Chloe Hadrich (1 for 3, 2B, 3 RBIs), Nicole Mearns (1 for 4, run, 2 RBIs), Samantha Caughie (1 for 2, RBI), Rasmussen (1 for 3, 2B, 2 runs) and Gianna Bianchi (1 for 2, 3 runs, RBI).
Leading hitters for the Lions were Mel Deleon (1 for 2, run), Erika Olson (1 for 2) and Bridget Niclaes (2 RBIs).
In other games last weekend, the Tigers posted two wins in five games in the Napa Tournament, defeating Sonoma Valley (8-7, 6-5) and losses coming to East Nicolaus (5-4), Rancho Cotate (8-4) and Douglas (6-1).
The Lions managed just three hits in a 13-1 loss at Petaluma on March 29, with Risa Scott-Smith pacing the attack with two hits, including a triple.
