Analy sprinter Ross Simmons powered to victory to win the varsity 400 Meter race at the annual Chip Castleberry Invitational track meet in Sebastopol on April 1.

SEBASTOPOL – The running gods were smiling on Saturday, April 2, as sunny skies and breezy conditions greeted more than a dozen participating teams at the annual Chip Castleberry Invitational Track meet hosted by the Tigers.
The event served as a coming out party of sorts for the newly installed Analy track and adjacent all-weather field, a nice sidelight for a great day of high school competition.
Participating teams included Analy, El Molino, Cloverdale, Fort Bragg, Healdsburg, Montgomery, Petaluma, Piner, Maria Carrillo Rincon Valley Christian, San Mateo, Sonoma, Technology High, and Windsor, making it one of the largest meets in the event’s history.
Both Analy and El Molino were well-represented with outstanding individual performances at the meet. Top efforts from the Tigers came from sprinter Ross Simmons (1st place 400 meters), Quiana Stodder (2nd in pole vault), and the girls 4 x 400 meter relay team.
Top performances for the Lions included Ryan Fernandez (2nd in discus, 5th in shot put), Abrianna Tait (2nd in 300 meter hurdles, 6th in 100 meters), Jack Belli (5th in long jump), Avery Ransome (3rd in discus), and Emma Cilley (5th in shot put).
Below are the complete varsity results for the Lions and Tigers from the Castleberry meet.
