It was a quiet week on the high school baseball circuit for Analy and El Molino teams this week, as both saw abbreviated action during spring break.
The Tigers played a pair of games in the annual A.L. Rabinovitz Memorial Tournament hosted by Montgomery on March 19, gaining an even split.
The event included tourney games played at various venues around Santa Rosa, with most teams logging three games.
Analy was one of the exceptions, combining a 6-5 win over Windsor with a 9-8 loss to Northgate before the final game of the tourney was washed out due to rain.
The March 19 Rabinovitz opener against Windsor had all the makings of a classic, with the Tigers taking a pair of early leads before the Jags clawed back to take a 5-4 lead. Analy would not be denied, scoring the game-winner on a clutch double to walk off with a 6-5 win.
Pitchers Alex Leopard (5.1 IP, 4 hits, 4 ERs, 3 Ks), Noah Rabin (1 IP, ER, K) and Thomas O’Brien (0.2 IP, hit, 0 runs, K) shared mound duties, while top hitters included Ethan Silverstrich (4 for 4, 2 2Bs, 2 runs, 4 RBIs), Rabin (3 for 4, 2 2Bs, RBI), Leopard (2 for 4, 2 runs), Kyler Exley (1 for 3, 2 runs) and Dalton Goodrum (1 for 2).
The Tigers were on the other end of a heartbreaker in the tourney finale against Northgate, falling to the Broncos 9-8 in eight innings. Analy jumped on Northgate for five runs in the first inning, but the Broncos clawed back to take the lead in a four-run fifth for a 6-5 lead. Analy plated a pair of seventh inning runs to send it into extra frames knotted at 7-7, but the magic ran out in the eight as Northgate escaped with an 8-7 victory.
Sharing mound duty for Analy were Tyler Stasiowski (4 IP, 7 hits, 2 ERs), Zack Eling (2 IP, 3 hits, 0 ERs, 2 Ks), Will St. Martin (4 hits, 3 ERs, K) and O’Brien (1 hit, 3 ERs).  Top hitters were Silverstrich (3 for 5, run, RBI), St. Martin (2 for 4, run, RBI), Stasiowski (1 for 3, 2 RBIs), Goodrum (1 for 3, 2 runs, RBI), Leopard (1 for 5, 2 runs) and Rabin (1 for 5, 2 runs).
The Tigers will visit Cardinal Newman on Wednesday, March 27, at 4 p.m. and host Rancho Cotate on Friday, March 29 at 4 p.m. Analy will visit Healdsburg on Monday, April 1, at 7 p.m.
