El Mo to host Analy this Friday in Golden Apple Bowl
The Analy train continued to roll on the high school gridiron on Friday, as the juggernaut Tigers reached new offensive heights in powering to a 70-0 romp over visiting Healdsburg.
The El Molino Lions endured a much different fate, falling from the ranks of the league unbeaten in weathering a 35-0 shutout at Petaluma.
The West County teams will renew an old classic this Friday, Oct. 28 when the Lions host the Tigers in the 52nd edition of the Golden Apple Bowl. Varsity kickoff time in Forestville is 7:30 p.m.
The Tigers (4-0, 7-1) enter the game on a roll, having outscored SCL opponents 248-7 in their first four league games. Analy holds a 28-23 edge in the overall series, including a 48-6 win over the Lions last year.
El Molino (3-1, 4-4) last hoisted the coveted Golden Apple Trophy in 2010, and will no doubt be huge underdogs when they take the field on Friday.
