The inimitable Carl Jensen is hosting a celebration of the 30th
anniversary of Project Censored on March 11 at the Rohnert Park
Community Center. The Sonoma State University project documents
media censorship and underreporting of important stories. Keynote
speaker for the evening will be Producer/Director Morgan Spurlock,
best known so-far for his Oscar-nominated work, “Super
Size Me,” an irreverent look at McDonald’s and obesity in America.
He’ll discuss censorship and the current state of U.S. media. The
evening will also include: reception with speakers, silent auction,
no-host bar, dinner and music for enjoyment and dancing with the
popular WASABI Rock & Blues Band. Tickets are $50 per seat or
$350 per table of eight. For reservations and information, call
664-2500, or go to www.projectcensored.org.

Word Box
“It’s so curious: one can resist tears and ‘behave’
very well in the hardst hours of grief. But then someone makes you
a friendly sign behind a window, or one notices that a flower that
was in bud only yesterday has suddenly blossomed, or a letter slips
from a drawer … and everything collapses.” – Collette
