Buzzz Box hates to get scooped on a big story, but when it gets
scooped by an obnoxious neon billboard in the friendly city of
Rohnert Park, it really hurts. Nonetheless, at least we know the
word is out about “The Truck Stops Here” fund-raiser that is coming
to Healdsburg this summer. Those who drive by the billboard on
Highway 101 in Rohnert Park may have already seen it, but the word
is that artists from Healdsburg and throughout the Bay Area will
participate in this first-ever community art project that will
benefit the Healdsburg Boys & Girls Club. The artists’ canvas
will be a five-foot long fiberglass sculpture of a 1930s-style
pickup truck. Each artist will transform a truck into their own
extraordinary vision, which will be displayed from June through
August in the city and the Dry Creek and Alexander valleys. The
trucks will be auctioned off during a September gala event.
For more information and a preview of the trucks, visit

Word Box
“Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you
could; some blunders and absurdities crept in; forget them as soon
as you can. Tomorow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and
with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” –
Ralph Waldo Emerson
