Annual art benefit for Face to Face
Art for Life, the wildly successful fund-raiser for Face to
Face/Sonoma County AIDS Network, will turn 16 years old this year
on Sunday, Sept. 7 at the Friedman Center in Santa Rosa.
An Auction Preview takes place three days before the big
shindig: Thursday, Sept. 4, noon-5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 5, noon-6
p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 6, noon-5 p.m.
The auction takes place Sunday, from 2 to 6 p.m. and includes
more than 250 works of art, hors d’oeuvres from the county’s top
chefs and local, world-class wines. Chef Jeff Mall from
Healdsburg’s Zin Restaurant & Wine Bar is the coordinating
chef. The admission price of $50 helps support Face to Face, which
provides compassionate care for people living with AIDS and their
loved ones, while promoting education to stem the tide of HIV
infection in Sonoma County.
River Car Show: Rods at the Rio
The sixth annual Russian River Car Show takes place Saturday,
Aug. 23 in Monte Rio, on Highway 116 across from the Rio Theater.
The show is open to 1973 and older American cars and trucks. It
starts at 8 a.m. and goes through 2 p.m., with awards at 2:30 p.m.
There will be food, raffle prizes, family fun and a poker walk. The
event is sponsored by the Santa Brigade and the Rio Theater.
