Poetry and Performance at libraries The Sonoma
County Library, Poets and Writers, Inc. and California Poets in the
Schools will present “Train Ride to the Future,” an evening of
poetry and performance at local libraries in celebration of
National Poetry Month. Poets of all ages will gather to write poems
that express their visions of Sonoma County in the future. There
will be an overview of Sonoma County railroad history and
participants will use guided visualization and brainstorming to
create a framework for poems about their vision of the county. The
events will take place in Healdsburg on March 29 at 7 p.m. and
Guerneville on April 16 at 7 p.m. The presenter for the event will
Scott Reid, a poet who has worked as an artist in residence in
schools throughout Sonoma County.
Indian Gaming: Issues & Answers The
California Indian Museum & Cultural Center will persent a
lecture on Indian Gaming in California, Issues & Answers on
Saturday, March 27 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the museum, located at
5250 Aero Dr. in Santa Rosa. For more information, call the museum
