Sex Workers Art Show at Raven
The Raven Theater in Healdsburg will host the Sex Workers Art
Show, which began in Olympia, Washington, eight years ago by
performer and former sex worker Annie Oakley. She says the show is
a form of cultural activism, using entertainment to get audiences
to confront issues of class, race, gender, sexuality and labor.
Anticipate a mesmerizing cabaret-style event featuring music,
spoken word, burlesque, video and other performance art; as well as
a visual art display that travels with the show. The show is on
Tuesday, Feb. 22, and the doors open at 8 p.m.
Wild walks among the flowers
The Sonoma County Regional Parks Department is hosting a series
of wildflower walks in regional parks, including Feb. 26 at Shiloh
Ranch in Windsor, Steelhead Beach in Forestville in March 19,
Foothill Park in Windsor on April 2, Ragle Ranch on May 7 and
Steelhead Beach on May 21. All hikes begin at 10 a.m. and last
