Secrecy, Democracy & Presidential Lies
Daniel Ellsberg will appear at Sonoma State University on
Wednesday, May 19 and present a lecture entitled, “Vietnam and
Iraq: Secrecy, Democracy and Presidential Lies.” Ellsberg, an
author and political activist best known for leaking the Pentagon
Papers, will appear at the Evert B. Person Theatre at SSU. Students
are admitted free to the event, and a suggested donation of $8 is
requested from the public.
Rotary hosts ‘Guys Can Cook, too’
The Rotary Club of Sebastopol Sunrise will sponsor its sixth
annual “Guys Can Cook (and Gals), Too” culinary cookoff involving
more than 50 amateur chefs and five executive chefs competing for
honors. Proceeds from the event and auctions will go to schools,
non-profits and humanitarian groups. The event is Saturday, May 15
from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Sebastopol Veterans Memorial building
located at 282 South High St. Tickets are $25 per person – which
includes a complimentary wine glass, two 2-oz. wine tastings plus
