Editor: Some years ago, a small army of volunteers led by the
inspiration of Dr. Dan Rose came up to the challenge of rescuing
our hospital from closure … literally hundreds gave of their time,
talent and treasure to come up with dollars, pass not one but two
tax initiatives overwhelmingly and with the Healthcare Foundation,
began the task of rebuilding. More recently, major gifts have been
added to include our new ER and other amenities.
Recently, I suffered a little crisis that started with the
wonderful Geyserville Fire Department, led to our local ambulance,
and sped me to the HDH emergency. Over the next several days I
spent time in the ER, Intensive care and the wards. I experienced
the whole gamut of care that was fabulous at every level … nurses,
techs, reception … everyone was like dealing with an old
friend.
My deepest thanks to everyone there (maybe especially the coffee
Haagen Daas lady) and to everyone who dug down a few years ago and
brought this wonderful little asset back to life … anyone involved
has the right to a feeling of great, great accomplishment.
