It was a weekend of fast times and great performances for West County athletes at the Sonoma County League Championships held April 28-29 on the campus of Santa Rosa Junior College.
The schedule included preliminary races on Friday and championship events contested on Saturday.
The defending league champion Lady Tigers saw their streak of six straight titles come to an end in a great effort by Sonoma Valley, as the unbeaten Dragons narrowly out-pointed the Tigers in the team scoring, 514-500. Rounding out the girls standings were El Molino (237), Petaluma (224), Healdsburg (197) and Piner (132). 
Turning in outstanding individual performances for Analy were double winners Marie Alameida (50 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke) and Sophie Boisseau (200 IM, 100 Butterfly). Both went undefeated in their events this season. In addition, El Molino’s Mariah Wong captured an individual title in the 100 Freestyle.  
Sonoma Valley completed a clean sweep for an undefeated season in the varsity boys team competition, capturing first place with a score of 427, edging second-place Analy (299). Other team scores included Petaluma (256), Piner (222), El Molino (218) and Healdsburg (183). 
 Individual winners for the varsity boys were Analy’s Jack Murphy (200 IM, 100 Backstroke), El Molino’s Ben Zeigler (200 Freestyle) and Analy’s Enzio Schoffer (100 Breaststroke).  Both Murphy and Schoffer were undefeated in their events this season.
 NCS qualifiers
Analy qualifiers for the upcoming North Coast Section Championships are: girls 200 Medley Relay (Alameida, Royer, Boisseau, Moussa, 1:54.14), Sophie Boisseau (200 IM, 2:15.88, 50 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly, 1:01.64), Marie Alameida (50 Freestyle, 24.28, 100 Backstroke, 58.33), 200 Freestyle Relay (Alameida, Boisseau, Roan, Whaley, 1:45.55) and the Analy 400 Freestyle Relay (Whaley, Roan, Royer, Moussa, 4:04.88).
In addition, El Molino’s Mariah Wong qualified for NCS in the 100 Freestyle (55.97).
NCS qualifiers for the boys are Analy’s 200 Medley Relay (Jack Murphy, Enzio Schoffer, Josiah Miller, Miles Miller), Jack Murphy (200 IM, 2:00.47, 100 Backstroke, 53.32), 200 Freestyle Relay (Miller, Miller, Schoffer, Murphy,1:38.08) and El Molino’s Ben Zeigler (100 Backstroke, 55.61).
The NCS Championships will be held at the Concord Community Pool on May 12-13.
