Over the last two years the Geyerville Planning Committee has been asking the question, “What do people want for Geyserville?” It turns out that the citizens of the town and countryside surrounding Geyserville know exactly what they want and have some great ideas of how to get there. Getting the answer took a lot of work on the part of the Geyserville Planning Committee.
Members of the Geyserville Planning Committee have sent postcards, approached members of every civic group in town and created a website, dedicated to sharing information and offering the survey on Survey Monkey. Last year the GPC offered the findings from two surveys at the annual Geyservile Planning Committee meeting.
In order to learn more about the community, the GPC created two more surveys and put together a subcommittee of volunteers to analyze the information. In the end every demographic has been polled in some fashion and the results are in. It is important to note this has been a community wide effort: Geyserville Planning Committee has received support from the Geyserville Community Foundation for survey outreach and website funding came from a generous private donation.
The meeting is open to the public and comments are welcome. On Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. the Geyserville Community Survey Ad Hoc Committee will present the results and offer draft recommendations for inclusion in the 2040 Sonoma County General Plan.
