Editor: It’s been a tough road for education over the past
couple of years. Large budget reductions at the statewide level,
$18 billion in total, have forced many cuts to be made in the
classroom. That is why I am grateful for the email I received from
Mike McGuire the other day. He sent out his education plan for
Sonoma County where he discusses how the County can create
partnerships with our local schools to provide job skills for our
students, pool resources to save money and create safe routes to
schools. As a teacher, I know there is no better investment our
society can make than that of investing in our County’s future
workforce. We need a Board of Supervisors that understands the
importance of academics and preparing our students for the jobs of
tomorrow. This is why I will be casting my vote for Mike McGuire
for County Supervisor .
