Editor: The announcement of the retirement of Supervisor Paul
Kelley opens up an opportunity for much needed new vision and
leadership in Sonoma County.
I have known Mike McGuire for over 16 years. I first met him
when I was a school police officer, and he was a student leader,
and then a board member on the Healdsburg School Board. He is now
on the Healdsburg City Council. Over the years I have worked with
him closely. In all of that time, I have been impressed with his
dedication, energy, and character. Mike pushed hard for police and
fire services. He is ethical and passionate — about education, open
space and jobs — things we need to prioritize now.
Mike listens to all sides, and works hard to forge results.
His ability to tackle the hard issues is proven by the wide
variety of his endorsements. He’s done a great job with consensus
and coalition building.
Mike is young, energetic, and passionate about Sonoma County. I
know personally that he has the leadership and experience to be a
great Supervisor. He is someone who truly cares about our schools,
our kids, and our community. I strongly urge a yes vote for Mike
McGuire for Sonoma County Supervisor.
