Editor: What has happened to Mike McGuire? I can hardly
recognize the person I supported for Healdsburg City Council. Back
then he was a progressive.
Now he’s hooked up with backing from developer-backed business
groups and right-wing agricultural organizations, and he’s making
up baseless reasons to attack the leadership of SMART, which he
knows is chaired by Debora Fudge, his competition in the
Supervisorial election. She’s been a stellar leader on rail and
transportation issues for 17 years. All of the major rail advocates
in the county are supporting her.
It’s only February, and McGuire is already showing a welcoming
hand to unwholesome alliances. So I have to ask: if he changes his
spots so easily when it suits him, who knows what he will do if
elected? I’ll go with the proven, reliable track record and support
Debora Fudge for Supervisor.
