Windsor High School will hold a ³Sports Day² this Saturday, Aug.
5 from 1-3 p.m. for athletes in all sports. The festivities will be
held in the school theater.
The event will touch on all aspects of high school athletics,
and will be useful for both incoming freshman and returning
athletes alike. Players will have the opportunity to talk with
coaches in all sports. WHS Athletic Director Gene Sandwina stressed
that the event is open to all grades, 9-12.
³We¹ve got author Tom Mitchell, who collaborated on Joe
Montana¹s book to come in and talk about the importance of high
school sports,² Sandwina said. ³I¹ll also be talking about the WHS
athletic programs. In addition, all of our coaches will be on hand
to meet the kids and give out paper work for the upcoming
season.²
Soccer conditioning camp
A co-ed soccer conditioning camp is set for August 14, involving
all WHS returning players. The cost of the two-week camp is $40,
with all of the proceeds going toward the soccer program.
In addition, players going out for fall soccer are strongly
encouraged to schedule physicals and complete medical clearance
forms as soon as possible. Paperwork can be turned in on Saturday
at the WHS ³Sports Day.²
