A Matter of Balance • Begins Wednesday, April 3 to May 22 • 1 to 3 p.m.Free
Maintaining good balance is an important competency as we age to ensure we are able to safely navigate our world. This fun, free 8-week program sponsored by the County’s Human Services Deptartment is intended for seniors whose fear of falling compromises their level of physical or social activity. The program is also beneficial to those who have not experienced imbalance or fall injury but who wish to be proactive in learning practical and empowering strategies for addressing risky behaviors and problematic habits. The program’s overall goal is building awareness and confidence, key components for being steady on your feet. Participants identify individual solutions to their unique and pressing real-world challenges through interactive and supportive problem solving. Simple and safe chair exercises begin in Session #3 and are designed to build strength, flexibility and overall conditioning in areas of the body that contribute to stability. To sign up call 707-838-1250.
