Longtime local Sebastopol resident Sharon Wunderlich passed away in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her three sons William, Nicale, and Wyeth, and her husband Theodore on May 22nd, 2019. In addition to her three sons and husband, Sharon is also survived by her stepdaughter Heather Wunderlich Hatton; her mother, Esther Hibler; her sisters Diane Klein, Lauren Cristina, and Karin Pevsner; and her brother Sheldon Hibler, all of New York.

Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1954, Sharon ventured off to Israel at the age of 16 to live on a kibbutz and see the world. After returning to New York, she met Theodore. They took a cross country trip to California and were married. The couple first had William then Nicale while living in Modesto, then moved to Ukiah where they had Wyeth. In 1996 the family moved to Sebastopol.

Sharon helped Theodore run his holistic healing business while raising their three sons. She loved keeping a tidy home, walks on the beach, tending to her garden, and her family. She was a passionate mother, a carefree and radiant soul who loved to sing, play piano, play Mah Jong with an amazing group of women, and cared deeply for those around her. Sharon was an impassioned advocate for holistic and alternative health care.

A service will be held at the Subud Hall in Sebastopol to celebrate Sharon’s life, tell stories, and share on her behalf on Sunday, June 9th, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Donations can be in her honor for the American Cancer Society.
