Editor: Thanksgiving was much nicer this year thanks to the
Healdsburg Rotary and their meal for seniors on Nov. 22, Michael
Matson of Vintage Valley Catering who provided 100 gourmet take
home meals and Cyrus chef Douglas Keene and his friends on Nov. 25
at Healdsburg Bar and Grill. All were reported in the local press.
Unreported was a Thanksgiving meal open to the public served at St
Paul’s on Nov. 21 hosted by Healdsburg Shared Ministries. This
wasn’t a special holiday event but a weekly meal prepared by
various local churches and faith communities all paid for by
Healdsburg Shared Ministreies.
HSM welcomes any and all volunteers to cook or serve for this
weekly event The schedule for 2010 will be posted soon. Also
welcome are donations to pay for the food. At this time of year,
HSM provided over 400 turkeys and food baskets for Thanksgiving and
will do the same for Christmas with 350 local families receiving
food, toys and coats on Dec. 23.
Donations of time and money are gratefully accepted at Box 1646,
Healdsburg Ca. 95448 year round to support the Sunday meal, food
pantry, and our current holiday programs. Many grateful hearts
thank you.
