The Buzzz Box apologizes for any confusion it may have caused
last week when we reported that the Sebastopol Center for the Arts’
Summer Music Series was set to get under way July 1 – it started
June 24. But there is still time to get to the plaza every Thursday
night until Aug. 5 to hear a wide variety of music, all starting at
6:30 p.m. and all free of charge.
Avoid the 13 this Fourth of
July
The Avoid the 13 campaign will be out in force over the
Independence Day holiday, so it’s best not to drink and drive. The
county’s law enforcement agencies (there are 13 of them) will set
up a sobriety checkpoint on Farmer’s Lane in Santa Rosa on Friday,
July 2 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Extra patrols will be out throughout
the holiday weekend looking for intoxicated drivers. The California
Highway Patrol will have 75 to 90 percent of its available officers
on the road. Here’s a free tip that can save lives, heartache and
other painful emotions: If you’re going to drink, stay home or let
someone who hasn’t been drinking do the driving. And we wish you
all a happy Fourth of July holiday.
