Sarah “Sally” L. (Furlong) Garlock died at home on Tuesday, Aug.
5, 2008, surrounded by her family. Garlock, born in 1931 and raised
in Petaluma, lived in Sebastopol for the last 55 years of her life
and was the fourth generation of Furlongs to live in Sonoma County.
She was the personality behind the Garlock Christmas Tree Farm,
drawing customers back every year since opening the farm in 1968
with her late husband Bob Garlock. She was involved in many
organizations, Beta Sigma Phi, Sirettes, Hillhoppers, Lagaette and
the Canfield School Board. Garlock enjoyed traveling, golfing,
socializing with family, friends, Christmas tree customers and
gambling. She is survived by her three children, Debbie (Paul)
Garavaglia, Bill (Lynn) Garlock and Keith (Becky) Garlock; seven
granddaughters, Kellie Garavaglia, Jodi Garavaglia, Jennifer
Garlock, Allison Garlock, Caitlyn Garlock, Meghan Garlock and Erin
Garlock; sister, Peggy (Joe) Moreda; friend and caregiver, Elenoa.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008 at 1:30 p.m.
at the Forestville United Methodist Church, 6550 Covey Road,
Forestville. Donations may be made in Garlock’s name to Alzheimer’s
Assn., 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633,
American Cancer Society, or Sutter VNA Hospice.
