A new multi-city health event series offers free wellness services to the north county during the month of April. Salud! is a series of health and wellness events, held in Cloverdale, Healdsburg and Windsor, which will feature free health screenings for vision, hearing, blood pressure, dental, dermatology and more.

Healthcare Foundation Northern Sonoma County, in partnership with local medical centers, parks and recreation departments and businesses, is producing the events.
Each Salud! features a partnership with the local town, as well as other elements customized to each community.
The Cloverdale event will feature a fun run around town. The Healdsburg event ties into activities to celebrate the work of Cesar Chavez and in Windsor the event ties into the town’s Earth Day and Wellness Festival.
Healthcare foundation chief executive officer Debbie Mason said community partners will be offering information on food, nutrition and free services that people can get to help them live a healthier life.
“We are delighted to fill this void in our region offering our friends and neighbors the opportunity to learn more about creating a healthier life and healthier community,” Mason said. “As the region’s only funder focused on the lens of health the Salud! events are a great way to fulfill our mission and a proactive way.”
Fitness experts will provide demonstrations of Tai Chi, Zumba, stretching and yoga. There will be activities for residents of all ages.
The Cloverdale Salud! will take place on April 7 at the Cloverdale Plaza, 122 North Cloverdale Boulevard, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature a river walk/run to and from the city plaza.
The Healdsburg Salud! will take place on April 14 at the Healdsburg Community Center, 1557 Healdsburg Avenue, from noon to 4 p.m. followed by music and celebration. The event will feature live music and a special guest speaker celebrating Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta.
The Windsor Salud! will take place on April 22 at Windsor Town Green, 701 McClelland Drive, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature garden lessons and prizes and coincides with the Windsor Farmers’ Market and the annual Earth Day and Wellness Festival.
Mason said the healthcare foundation focuses investments in three areas: healthcare access, mental health and early childhood development.
Since the foundation started in 2001, it has invested more than $22 million in front line providers of medical and dental care, as well as other relevant services.
The Health Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission of bringing together the community to engage donors in the support of creating a healthier northern Sonoma County region.
