Blue skies and fast times were the rule at the annual Chip Castleberry Invitational track meet hosted by Analy on March 30, an event that included 20 teams and hundreds of high school athletes.
The meet featured plenty of great efforts from west county participants, including Analy’s top finishers Sierra Atkins (first place 1,600 meters, second place 800 meters), Margaux Jame (first place 100 meter high hurdles, third place 300 hurdles), Alec Dierke (second place 800 meters), Carolina Dawson (second place 3,200 meters, fourth place 800 meters), Ian Sine (third place 200 meters), Maddie Windsor (third place 400 meters), George Santos (third place 100 meters) and Samuel Perdue (fifth place shot put).
Top El Molino performances were turned in by Soul Berna (first place long jump, second place, triple jump), Cody Brooke (fifth place discus), Audrey Serrano (seventh place, 100 meter high hurdles), Jeanne Broome (sixth place 400 meters, eighth place shot put), Ethan Ransome (ninth place 110 high hurdles) and Wyatt Stringfellow (sixth place 100 meters).
Both teams open the NBL meet season on April 3 when El Mo hosts Windsor and Piner while Analy travels to Rancho Cotate. Both meets start at 3:45 p.m.
