Analy and El Molino track teams have logged a good month on the track as both continue to round into form on the high school meet circuit.
El Molino was well represented at the recent North Coast Extravaganza in Santa Rosa, overcoming stormy skies and cold temperatures to turn in a strong team effort.
The meet included many of the top teams and athletes in the Redwood Empire and featured some unusual events, including a pentathlon (five combined events) and several relay races of various distances.
Among the many great efforts from the Lions’ varsity boys squad came from Soul Berna (3rd place, triple jump), Austin Kelsey (4th place, shot put, discus), Chase Nicholls (7th place, pentathlon) and Ethan Ransome (9th place, 400-meter hurdles).
Leading the way for the El Mo girls were Kassidy Sani (1st place, discus; 5th place, shot put), Audrey Serrano (2nd place, 400 hurdles; 4th place, 100 hurdles), Jackey Martinez (9th place, long jump) and the 4 x 200-meter relay team of Isabelle Velasquez, Martinez, Kathy Fuentes, Talia Husary, Jordan Rogers and Ella Kinderman.
Next up for the Lions is the Twilight Relays in Santa Rosa this Friday, March 22.Â
