El Mo's Aubri Tait cleared a hurdle to capture the 300 intermediate hurdles at the SCL Championships.

Preparation met peak performance for West County participants at the Sonoma County League Track & Field Championships hosted by Piner High School on May 14, a meet that serves as the first step for athletes with State aspirations.
The action began with the trials on Thursday, followed by the finals on Saturday. The goal for most participants was a top-six finish, good for advancement to the North Coast Section Redwood Empire Qualifier meet to be held at Piner this Saturday, May 21 (10 a.m.).
In all, Analy and El Molino combined to qualify some three dozen athletes to the NCS REQ.
Capturing individual titles for El Molino were Brian Schulz (1,600, 3,200 meters), Aubri Tait (300 intermediate hurdles), and Emma Cilley (discus). The El Mo boys also won the 4 x 100 relay in come from behind fashion.
Analy’s individual titlists included middle distance runner Ross Simmons (400 meters), and sprinter Isaiah Moore (100 meters).
