The WHS cross-country team took to the trails in Santa Rosa on Oct. 4, taking on Cardinal Newman and Santa Rosa in the North Bay League opener on the Cardinals’ 2.6-mile course in Santa Rosa. 
Leading the way for the varsity boys was junior standout Lucas Chung, who took second place in a blistering 14:10. Teammate Hunter Larson was in hot pursuit, coming in third in 14:20.  
Emerging freshman Nataleigh Johnson paced the varsity girls’ contingent with a ninth place finish in 18:44, followed closely in 11th place by sophomore teammate Erin O’Mara in 18:51.
