Team will compete at North Coast Section meet on Saturday
The Running Eagles will be in pursuit of peak performance this Saturday, Nov. 17 when they toe the starting line at the North Coast Section Cross Country Championships at Hayward High School. The first race will start at 9 a.m.
The prestigious CIF State Cross Country Championships will be held on the classic Woodward Park course in Fresno on Nov. 24.
Cloverdale closed out a strong league season on Nov. 5 at the Coastal Mountain Conference Championship meet in Willits, logging a strong overall performance.
The varsity boy’s squad was led by individual league champion Paden Collard, who blistered the 5-kilometer course in a sizzling 17:41. Following closely were teammates Chris Lopez (20:14), Tucker Morgan (20:38), Miguel Gonzalez-Zalazar (22:20), Joseph Faso (24:48), Carlos Mercado (25:47) and Sadrac Fernandez (35:07).
Pacing the third-place varsity girls were senior Julie Edwards (seventh place overall, 24:20), Josephine Swartz (27:05), Cristina Cardenas (28:20), Elizabeth Ruiz (32:37), Sophia Witt (39:46) and Paula Toledo (39:52).
