It is with great sorrow that the family of Ron Titus announces his passing on June 22, 2018 peacefully at his home in Cloverdale after a brief battle with cancer. He was 69 years old.
Ron was born on February 10, 1949, the youngest of 4 kids to the late Ross & Elsie Titus. He is predeceased by his sister Helen Manni and granddaughter Crystal Proffitt. Ron was a devoted husband to his wife of 45 years Stephanie, a loving father to daughter Renae (Jay) Smith, son David (Amy) Titus, and proud Papa to Jonathan, Anthony, Cody & Gemma. Ron is also survived by his sister Mary Walton and brother Walt Titus, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron also leaves behind his beloved duck dog Misty Sue.
Ron was born and raised on a small dairy in Valley Ford. While running the family dairy, Ron began a small trucking business. Ron loved driving truck. After retiring from Sonoma State in 2011, he again went back to driving when he went to work for his son’s trucking company.
Ron had a passion for duck hunting, deer hunting and fishing. He loved Sunday dinners with his family when he would get to enjoy another of his passions, barbequing. Ron was an avid A’s and Raiders fan. Ron had a huge heart and a personality larger than he was. Ron was a friend to so many people and loved by all who knew him. He will be missed greatly, especially by his family.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church, 7983 Covert Lane, Sebastopol on Saturday, July 7 at 12 p.m. Please join Ron’s family at a reception following the service at Ron’s son’s house in Sebastopol to enjoy food and one of Ron’s favorite drinks, a vodka tonic or a glass of red wine.
