Robert M. Van Buren passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2007
in Santa Rosa. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia Van Buren of
Windsor and loving father of Christopher (Edna) Van Buren of
Ventura, CA. and Alexander Van Buren of Las Vegas. Bob was born in
New York and lived in Sonoma County for 13 years. He was a member
of the American Legion, San Francisco, Toastmasters International,
International Guild of Knot-Tyers, a past member of the Alliance
Francaise and past member of the American Association of Technical
Writers. He was an authority in Elizabethan and English literature,
his interests included, classical piano especially Mozart and
Beethoven, speech making and story telling, he was an expert
downhill skier, all aspects of ships and sailing; he spoke French
and loved all French things. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Friends were invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday,
November 30, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Santa Rosa Mortuary Chapel, 1900
Franklin Ave., Santa Rosa. Memorial contributions may be made to
the New Hampton School, 70 Main St., New Hampton, NH 03256. The Van
Buren family wishes to express their gratitude for the wonderful
care given to Bob by Dr. Bozdech, Dr. Chang-Sing, Dr. Devlin, and
Dr. Scott Peterson.
